Review for DodoLashes

Hey Everyone!!!
I am really excited about this review today! Recently I came across a company called DodoLashes on Instagram. When I was checking out their website I noticed they have an affiliate program. So with my blog just growing I decided to give them a shot. They contacted me back and gave me these great lashes to review, and offered me a great discount code for shoppers (at the bottom of this blog). These are the D105:

Starting off I will say that although I love makeup and feel like I got a good handle on things, but, I am still a newbie at using fake lashes. I bought a tool that is a cross between tweezers and eyelash holder and they seem to work very well. I found them at my local dollar store (not a chain just family owned one).
My first time applying the lashes (used Duo clear lash glue) one thing I noticed is that they did not feel cheap like others, the lashes are actually lash like and thin. Very lightweight. I learned to ditch my mascara with them as it could ruin them, and it just isn't necessary. Also the strip on the lashes is bendable which is more fitting to different eyelid types whereas others only stay the same way causing them to not fit my lid well and lift in the inner corners of my eyes.
Here's a couple pictures, damn they look good!!:

I wore them all day and did not find them uncomfortable. When I walked to the store I felt them blowing in the wind! lol. But I think that's something I'll just have to get used to.
Price wise I think it is a great price (these were only $5.00 + shipping). They say they are cruelty free mink lashes, which from what I have read means they are brushed off hairs that are collected for the lashes. They have kits that start at $40 with 8 pairs and free shipping on orders over $30. So not too shabby at all. You should get 10-25 wears out of each pair.
When you do go and check out www.dodolashes.com please use my discount code for a small treat at checkout :) its lb212420
Thanks for reading!!!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

Hey!!!!

Today I am giving a review on a product that I recently bought after I saw great reviews online. It's the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream.
I started with just buying two at www.LondonDrugs.com, they were about the same price ($9.00) as the NYX cosmetics website, but I was offered a better shipping deal, so that is why I took that route instead.
So, I purchased two colours Copenhagen and Athens:

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is not a lipstick, or lipgloss, as their website describes it. It feels kind of like a balm but it has way more coverage. Also another benefit is it is not drying like other matte lipsticks, it always feels moisturizing which is hard to explain with a matte. It is durable but it does need reapplying after eating or drinking. It seems to take a bit to dry but once it does it dries to a beautiful matte finish.
The coverage was a little bit tricky, I did need a couple of coats with Copenhagen to get the color I wanted, which is a nice burgundy deep reddish colour. With Athens, it was a lot more pink toned than it shows here in the pics. Which isn't really the tone I was going for ( I wanted a more beige nude), but I do like how it looks, it can definitely be used as an everyday colour.

Overall, I am satisfied with this product, and I will be on the lookout for more colours to add to my collection. The benefits that stand out the most to me is they are reasonably priced, and not drying. Both key factors in a good lip colour.
Thanks again for stopping by and reading my blog!

CND Vinylux Weekly Polish

Hey everyone. This week I will be focusing on a great polish I have recently discovered. It is the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish.

I first received this product free from a website called www.ChickAdvisor.com it's is a review site that gives away offers every so often for review. In total I received 3 different polishes. The first was a deep burgundy red called Decadence along with a great top coat. It has amazing coverage and I only needed two coats. Here's a pic of how I received the package:
A short while after about 3 weeks, I received an email from ChickAdvisor letting me know I had won two more colors from their Spring and Summer collection, this is a pic I posted on my instagram (which you can follow at lb2012420) :

I haven't had a chance to use them yet but the blueish tealy colour is from the Flirtation Spring 2016 collection it is called Aqua-intance. The pinkish with light purple sheen is called Blush Teddy which is from the Flora & Fauna Summer 2016 Collection (retail value $10.50)
here are some pics from CND's website :
CND 182 Blush Teddy

CND 220 Aqua-intance

According to the website the Blush Teddy is more iridescent than shown here, so you may need a couple of coats. As for the Aqua-intance, the formula seems to be a little thicker using less coats for full coverage. These are both great polishes with a long time wear. When I did test out the Decadence colour that I first received I had a wear of longer than a week with NO CHIPS! So I highly recommend this polish if that is the type of wear you are after.

Overall, I love working with ChickAdvisor, I really enjoy all of the little extras I have received from them aside from just doing reviews. Every month they have great incentives to write reviews such as Gift Cards and ongoing contests.
If you are already a part of ChickAdvisor or join you can add me as well just click here !!!

Well, thanks again for checking this out!!!!

Review for Influenster's L'OREAL VOXBOX Extraordinary Oil Collection

L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise
Extraordinary Oil Influenster VOXBOX review

(sorry I didn't catch the hair mask in the picture that well; better picture of it below)

This is it! My first VOXBOX received through www.influenster.com. I have only been a member for a short while but I completed all of their requests (post on twitter, Facebook and Instagram) to receive these items for free! This will be a completely honest and unbiased review.

I received the Extraordinary Oil Shampoo, Conditioner, and Hair Mask. It says to have coconut, argan, chamomile, amla, soja, and sunflower oils. Which are the main ingredients that help with the dry hair. Starting with the shampoo, it is definitely thicker than average shampoo, you only need a small amount (which I learned the hard way, it took a while to rinse out my first time using it). The smell is very similar to cocoa butter or a muskier smell than most shampoos.
The conditioner is also a thicker formula, but does comb through your hair nicely, and the smell is very similar to the conditioner.
. The first time I used the 3 products, I used the hair mask on soaked hair when on the directions it says to use on towel dried hair, so it did not stay on my hair well, and there wasn't much benefit I noticed from using the mask. With that said, the 2nd time I used it I followed the directions. It made a huge difference. My hair was not frizzy whatsoever it came out very soft and manageable.
Another thing I noticed about the hair mask is that it had teeny-tiny gold flecks in it, a gold shimmer. It wasn't noticeable in my hair though which is good, I'm not sure I'd like that :/ .

So overall, I really like this line. I would definitely purchase it because it is affordable, and works well. I recommend this to anyone who has issues with their hair being frizzy and unmanageable. I think it my be a bit too heavy for people with thin hair, as the oil is noticeable and may weigh down the hair.
Good thing Influenster sent me some great coupons! Thanks again!

Thanks for checking this out!!!!!

Allow me to introduce myself....

So. Here it goes.
I have finally decided to start doing a blog.
I am interested in all things to do with makeup and beauty, and consider myself a bit obsessed.

I'll start off by saying my love for all things makeup started with my love for nail polish. I have always worn makeup and nail polish but never considered it my hobby until about 6 years ago. It started with nail polish that I bought with the little liner brushes at Walmart by Kiss. They were so awesome. I really loved having the ability to do my own nail art at home, getting them done professionally was too costly for me, so this was a great alternative that fit my budget.

Slowly but surely my nail polish collection grew, and grew....and grew..., and although I have seen people with 1000's, I'm at about 500 now. And as for a budget...that kind of went out the window as I got collecting.
This is an older picture (3 years ago), but this is a shelf I made for my nail polish. As you can see the shelves are not very straight. I'M NO CARPENTER! :

In the beginning I also fiddled around with acrylic-which now I'm not into at all. For me, it was hard to keep up, and really stinky. Not to mention I never had professional training so I would practice on myself (and sometimes willing friends) and ruin my nails. Lesson learned. Here's an example of the acrylic stuff I did a few years back:

As you can see in the picture it's tagged with flashnails, that's my old name I picked but it didn't really catch on.
I love using hard gel and gel polish still from time to time, and I've had much more practice, and it is less stinky :)

My love for makeup has really grown as well. I have an acquaintance who is local to me who also is a beauty blogger-she has wayyyyy more experience than myself ;)- she has given me a ton of awesome deals on good quality makeup to help my grow my stash, as well as some helpful info on all this blogging stuff.
I do subscribe to beauty boxes, I love them! Although recently I cancelled my Ipsy bag. Don't get me wrong, I loved pretty much everything I got, but I'm Canadian so the shipping killed me (almost $21.00 compared to $14 and change). So in the next couple of weeks I'll be trying out the Canadian Birchbox for awhile and see how I like it.

I love to try all different types of styles, and I try to be adventurous (some days are better than others). Here's an example of my day to day:
For this look I used the Naked 2 palette by urban decay. A Classic!! And on my lips I used The Balm cosmetics Matte Hughes long-lasting lip color in Committed and Sephora liquid liner.

When it comes to reviewing I am a bit of a novice, although, I do have quite a reviewing record at Chickadvisor.com. I have had the opportunity to review quite a few items from them now and I am actually waiting on a product in the mail! It is for Maybelline Velvet Matte foundation with their new beauty blender, so that will be my first official blog review!!

I hope to be able to bring you some fun and well said reviews on many different types of beauty products, so subscribe and stay tuned!!!
